Jayda Lauzon
Registered Kinesiologist
Hi, my name is Jayda, and I am a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer at South Island Physiotherapy. I work with people who want to feel stronger and more confident in their bodies, but may not be sure where to start, what exercises are right for them, or how hard they should be pushing.
I have a particular interest in helping women through perimenopause and menopause who may be noticing changes in their strength, energy, recovery, or confidence with exercise. This stage of life can make movement feel unfamiliar, and my goal is to help you better understand what your body needs, build strength progressively, and feel capable rather than limited by those changes.
My approach is to make strength training feel practical, approachable, and specific to you. Whether you are new to the gym, returning to exercise after time away, or looking to build strength for the activities you love, I will meet you where you are and create a plan around your goals, experience, and lifestyle. I also want you to understand why we are doing what we are doing, so you leave feeling more confident managing your own health and fitness.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria and am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. My background includes strength and conditioning with UVic varsity athletes, adaptive exercise, children’s physiotherapy, and the FAME post-stroke exercise program.
Outside of work, I enjoy strength training, hiking and exploring Vancouver Island, travelling, reading, and finding just about any excuse to get outside.
